PLEASE NOTE:
All computer courses are taught in a Windows environment and are designed for different levels of experience. Those with limited or no experience with a PC and Windows should take Computer Basics & Keyboarding prior to other courses. All other courses are for those confident with Windows and who have good typing and mouse skills. Each student works at an individual computer.
COMPUTER BASICS & KEYBOARDING – Pat Barnaby
Exeter Adult Education’s most basic computer course for absolute beginners who need to start from square one with typing, mouse techniques, computer terminology, and word processing. Internet and email WILL NOT be taught.

INTRODUCTION TO WORD – Rod Crepeau
This course will cover the basics of word processing, mail merge, and how to create professional letters, announcements, brochures, business forms, and newsletters. Basic PC knowledge and adequate typing skills necessary.

INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL – Robert Prieto
Discover the calculating power of the most widely used computerized spreadsheet program. Learn the fundamentals of spreadsheets and how to use the many aspects of Excel in your personal and professional life. Basic PC knowledge and adequate typing skills necessary.
Thursdays, 4 weeks, beginning January 28, 6:00-8:00 p.m., $80
INTERMEDIATE EXCEL – Robert Prieto
Those comfortable with navigating, entering data, and creating simple formulas will learn more formulas and functions, create charts, work with lists, manage worksheets and workbooks in preparation for data analysis and interface with other programs. Basic PC knowledge and adequate typing skills necessary.
Thursdays, 3 weeks, beginning March 4, 6:00-8:00 p.m., $65
ADVANCED EXCEL – Robert Prieto
Those comfortable with basic and intermediate functions will learn to automate tasks with macros, perform data analysis, create pivot tables, use what-if analysis, use Excel with the Internet, develop professional-looking forms, and conduct professional data manipulation. This is not a beginner course.

INTRODUCTION TO POWERPOINT – Rod Crepeau
Create professional-looking presentations for use in business, school, or other meetings. Participants will learn how to produce slides, signs, other exciting graphics, and how to hyperlink to the internet. Basic PC knowledge and adequate typing skills necessary.

INTRODUCTION TO eBAY – Patricia Antlitz
Gain a basic understanding of how this worldwide marketplace works from an experienced eBayer. Explore the variety of products offered, discuss the different types of sellers, walk through posting an item, explore how to bid and what to expect when you purchase an item.

Topics will include determining price and marketability of your product, eBay fee structure, uploading photos, tracking internet traffic, interpreting feedback, monitoring your merchandise, collecting payment, shipping options, international sales, PayPal, half.com, and phishing.

INTRODUCTION TO GENEALOGY – Patricia Antlitz
Find out more about your ancestors who came to the U.S. from Europe during the Great Immigration (post Civil War through early 1900’s). Learn about ships’ manifest records, census records, and other less obvious means to piece together your family history.

CREATING DIGITAL SLIDE SHOWS FROM PHOTOS – Brian Schwartz
Learn tips, tricks, and what you need to create a slide show from digital photos and paper prints. Students will make their own projects to share with the class on the second night, receive feedback, and participate in a Q & A session. Bring photos and USB drive. Basic PC knowledge necessary.
